Detoxification Protocols

What is Detoxification?

Detoxification involves the removal of toxins and impurities from the body, giving the body the break it needs to cleanse and rejuvenate itself. It involves resetting the body from the inside out by removing toxins —environmental and food— and replacing them with essential nutrients and strengthening the organs. Detoxification can help with disease prevention as well as helping your body to reach its highest state of health.

Every detox has a specific goal thus each detoxification is customized to the individual based on their doctor's assessment of their current health status and their specific needs.

How does it work?

To create a customised detoxification treatment, your doctor will analyse your health status, your health history and your current needs to design a detox plan that is made for you, restoring you back to your highest health and helping in the prevention of disease.

Detoxification can have a positive impact on all of the organs in your body—kidneys, intestinal tract, lungs, skin and liver.

What conditions does it treat?

When your body is overloaded and in need of a detox, it will alert you with a range of symptoms, including:

  • Headaches

  • Fatigue

  • Acne

  • Sensitivity to smells

  • Increased allergic reactions

  • Skin conditions like acne or eczema

  • Frequent constipation or diarrhea

  • Feeling hungover when you’re not

  • Confusion or brain-fog

What can I expect during a treatment?

A detoxification program involves a combination of some or all of the following:

  • Removing toxic or allergenic foods from your diet

  • Adding in healthy foods that help with detox, especially for your liver

  • Suggesting supplements that will help improve your health and liver function

  • IV therapy or homeopathic drainage to help toxins move out of your body and replace vital nutrients & good bacteria

Many symptoms, like headaches and acne, can disappear after a good detox program, and most people report a general sense of well-being that extends far beyond the end of the detox program.

Our Approach

Throughout our treatments, we combine traditional and modern practices, extensive knowledge of the foundations of health and the gentle touch of someone who cares. The Principles of Naturopathic Medicine are our guiding light reminding us that every patient is unique so every treatment must be too; so, our first step is always getting a full picture of your whole health, physically, mentally and emotionally, to help us identify what is out of balance and determine a truly individual-to-you treatment plan.

We’re creative in our approach to healing and utilize all of the tools available to us including new technology, continued education and breakthrough treatments keeping us on the cutting edge of healthcare. However, we always come back to the Principles of Naturopathic Medicine and the knowledge and wisdom that has been handed down to us by our mentors and predecessors. That knowledge is woven into our practice everyday and continues to inspire us to stay true to our roots.
