Clinical Nutrition
What is Clinical Nutrition?
Nutrition is a cornerstone of naturopathic healing; diet and digestion are integral to health, healing, and disease prevention.
We evaluate and optimize an individual's overall dietary patterns, pinpointing any symptoms that may be present from food sensitivities or nutritional deficiencies and examine the relationship between diet and health. Special diets may be recommended and treatment may include supplements.
How does it work?
Our Naturopathic Physicians are trained to identify and address deficiencies and restore health with a balanced diet, nutritional supplements and intravenous delivery of nutrients. Your doctor will examine your nutritional status and dietary needs and will recommend changes that are individually targeted for you and your needs.
What conditions does it treat?
Improving your diet and digestive health can have a positive impact on a wide range of health concerns.
What can I expect during a treatment?
A thorough assessment of the patient’s current diet, medical history, lifestyle, and dietary behaviours. The doctor will also gain an understanding of the patient's emotional, spiritual, familial, social, occupational, and financial stressors that impact their health. A deep understanding of both of these allows the doctor to take a holistic approach to nutrition.
Specific diets may be recommended and treatments may include nutritional supplements such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutraceuticals.
Our Approach
Throughout our treatments, we combine traditional and modern practices, extensive knowledge of the foundations of health and the gentle touch of someone who cares. The Principles of Naturopathic Medicine are our guiding light reminding us that every patient is unique so every treatment must be too; so, our first step is always getting a full picture of your whole health, physically, mentally and emotionally, to help us identify what is out of balance and determine a truly individual-to-you treatment plan.
We’re creative in our approach to healing and utilize all of the tools available to us including new technology, continued education and breakthrough treatments keeping us on the cutting edge of healthcare. However, we always come back to the Principles of Naturopathic Medicine and the knowledge and wisdom that has been handed down to us by our mentors and predecessors. That knowledge is woven into our practice everyday and continues to inspire us to stay true to our roots.
